Nominations for LOREDC Annual Business Awards are Now Being Accepted

The Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development Council (LOREDC) is excited to announce an opportunity to honor persons/businesses in the tri-county region through our annual Business Awards. The awards will be presented at the LOREDC annual membership meeting on January 21, 2016 at Seven Springs Winery. Nominations will be accepted through December 18, 2015. To be eligible, businesses must have been in business for a minimum of six months and be a registered business in Camden, Miller or Morgan County. Annual Business Awards Business Partner of the Year  A business that has experienced significant business accomplishments in the past year i.e. growth in jobs and/or exemplary community involvement. Business Person of the Year A business owner/manager that has made a contribution to the Lake of the Ozarks' economic welfare and/or has made a considerable donation of time and resources to the community. The Lake of the Ozarks area has experienced tremendous growth and development over the last 20 years. It now boasts a population of more than 124,886 permanent residents and a thriving tourism industry. The popularity of the Lake of the Ozarks region is accentuated by its central location in Missouri, equal distances from the two largest cities: St. Louis and Kansas City. Because of the unique ability to build at the water's edge and the availability of diverse activities, the Lake Area is projected to experience continued growth and development. National TV Series Featuring Lake of the Ozarks Airs on Sunday!

" Family Travel with Colleen Kelly ,” a popular National Public Television series, will feature the Lake of the Ozarks, highlighting the outdoor adventure, water activities, shopping, dining and attractions that make the area a great family vacation destination. The Lake of the Ozarks episode will be part of the show's season two lineup and will air at 8:30 am on Saturday, August 2, 2015 on KMOS – Channel 184 on Charter Communications and OPT-Create TV Channel 21.3 at 8:30 am on August 2, 2015 in Springfield, MO. Tim Jacobsen, Executive Director, Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau states; “We are very excited to see the program air in our geographic area and even more excited about the national coverage the show will bring to the Lake of the Ozarks.” Colleen started off her trip to the Lake of the Ozarks with an aerial tour of the area. LOREDC Partners in Marketing Program

The Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development Council has approved a program designed to assist in marketing efforts to promote the Lake area. The LOREDC Partners in Marketing  grant program will help fund promotional activities for LOREDC members who are seeking to promote the Lake area as a region. Program Guidelines  Program Intent To assist with funding professional marketing components, including the creation and placement of collateral materials.  The outcome to aid in the stability and growth of the communities and overall Lake region. Criteria Grants are made on first come-first serve basis and eligibility is determined at the discretion of the Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development Council (LOREDC). Awards will be considered on an individual basis and up to 50%. Only one award may be granted per calendar year and per project. Applicants must be a member of LOREDC and located in the service area.
