LOREDC Business Award Recipients Announced
The Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development Council (LOREDC) is excited to announce the recipients of the LOREDC Annual Awards that honor persons / businesses in the tri-county region. The awards were presented at the LOREDC Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Seven Springs Winery.
To be eligible, nominees must have been in business for a minimum of six months and a registered business in Camden, Miller or Morgan County. As members of the LOREDC Awards Committee, Trish Creach from the Camdenton Area Chamber of Commerce and Jeana Woods from the City of Osage Beach presented the awards. Trish stated, “This is the 11th year for recognizing businesses in our community. Needless to say, it was a challenge to narrow down the field to three this year.”
Business Partner of the Year – A business that has experienced significant business accomplishments in the past year i.e. growth in jobs and/or exemplary community involvement. Business Partner of the Year was awarded to The Zoo Athletic Training Center & Sportsplex and present to accept the award was LeAnn Selander and Lisa Moore.
Business Person of the Year – A business owner/manager that has made a contribution to the economic welfare and/or has made a considerable donation of time and resources to the community. Business Person of the Year was awarded to Daniel “Taz” Bergorson from Go Fast Betty’s.
Emerging Enterprise of the Year – A business that best displays the innovation, entrepreneurial accomplishments and/or utilization of emerging technology. Emerging Enterprise of the Year was awarded to The Exchange and present to accept the award was Herb and Janet Baker.
“The board members of LOREDC were honored to present these well-deserved awards” states Tim Jacobsen, LOREDC President. In addition to the awards the LOREDC Annual Membership Meeting was very informative and included updates on LOREDC’s marketing efforts, legislative issues, Lake of the Ozarks housing study, Council of Local Governments, marketing partners grant recipients and a presentation on The New Rural Approach to Economic Development by Luke Holtschneider from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
