What is Happening at the LOREDC Annual Meeting?

2018 has gone by fast! We hope everyone had a great year and we'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! Before you know it, the LOREDC Annual Meeting will be taking place. We know some of you may be wondering, what is happening at the LOREDC Annual Meeting. The Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development Council is here to present the tentative agenda of the Annual Meeting. Also, don't forget to make your Business Award nominations by the end of the day, today (12/31/18), if you haven't already. This is your chance to honor an individual or business at the Lake of the Ozarks who has worked very hard all year.

Welcome members and guests!

8:25 AM Speaker Presentation - Steve Johnson, CEO Missouri Partnership 
Steve Johnson is the CEO of Missouri Partnership, a public-private economic development partnership that leads business recruitment in Missouri. The Missouri Partnership works in close cooperation Mith MoDED, the Hauthorn Foundation, and regional economic organizations to accomplish that goal. Steve is a Certified Economic Developer, has led regional economic development initiative in both Kansas City and St. Louis, and throughout his career been involved Mith successful business recruitment projects Mith many companies including Boeing, Wachovia
Securities, Isle of Capri, American Family , just to name a few.

9:25AM Annual Business Awards - Marketing Committee 
Each year LOREDC honors persons and businesses in our tri-county region who have made significant accomplishments towards our region's economic success. Nominations are made via an application process to the LOREDC Marketing Committee. The categories include:

Small Business Partner of the Year – A small business (employing 50 or fewer employees) that has experienced significant business accomplishments in the past year i.e. growth in jobs and/or exemplary community involvement.

Large Business Partner of the Year – A large business(employing more than 50 employees) that has experienced significant business accomplishments in the past year i.e. growth in jobs and/or exemplary community involvement.

Emerging Venture of the Year - A business or project that best displays the innovation, entrepreneurial accomplishments and/or utilization of emerging resources.

Business Person of the Year – A business owner/manager that has made a contribution to the economic welfare and/or has made a considerable donation of time and resources to the community.

Employee of the Year - An employee that consistently exceeds the expectations of the position, performing at a level above and beyond normal job requirements and expectations; has made notable and significant contributions in the areas of Professionalism, Customer Focus and Teamwork.

9:50 AM Election of FV2019 LOREDC Officers - Roger Corbin, LOREDC Vice-President 
The LOREDC organization is governed by a nine member Board of Directors each Mith three year terms, one-third ofwhom are elected annually. The Board appoints a Nominating Committee to assist in the process of presenting a slate of candidates to the membership.
