Economic Development Specialist Wanted


Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development Council’s (LOREDC) mission includes facilitating and supporting regional economic development programs and resources to grow our multi-county region. In this effort, we are working to assist the Lake of the Ozarks Council of Local Governments (LOCLG) in their search for an Economic Development Specialist who will provide technical assistance to both local governments and the business community in business development, financing support and management of existing revolving loan fund, entrepreneurship, workforce development, community development, grant writing, and coordination or projects and programs. The job announcement is as follows:

Lake of the Ozarks Council of Local Governments is seeking an Economic Development
Specialist. The Economic Development Specialist will assist with providing support and
services to the four-county region of Camden, Laclede, Miller and Morgan, Missouri. Job
performance will focus on economic recovery and development by providing technical
assistance to both local governments and the business community. Technical assistance may
include but not limited to business development, financing support and management of the
existing revolving loan fund (RLF), entrepreneurship, workforce development, community
development, grant writing and coordination. Project and program development with potential
implementation as projects are funded.

Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited college or university with preference given to major course work in
the fields of planning, public administration, business administration, finance, urban studies,
banking, accounting, economics, or other related fields of study. Relevant experience may be
substituted for education. Skills in the preparation of written reports and competency in
communication with public officials is essential. Experience as a commercial loan officer
preferred.

Physical Requirements
Individual must possess a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle to be used for
business travel within the region. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
