Bagnell Dam & Strip.

But the fun doesn’t stop with the 4th of July, the lake area offers all kinds of activities to choose from all summer long. Bagnell Dam and the Strip are definitely worth checking out during the summer season.  Not only will you find incredible dining and shopping opportunities, you can also find an obstacle course, an escape room, boat tours, boat rentals, parasailing, and more.

Lake-Wide Activities.

Of course, if you are not located near the Dam and are interested in boat and PWC rentals, boat tours, paddle boarding, hover boarding, wake boarding or parasailing and the like, you have choices all over the Lake of the Ozarks. Fishing is also an option year-round.  You have a choice of water parks too!  There are numerous car and motorcycle shows around the lake area that are annual favorites for thousands of people.  The countless golf courses at the lake are an attraction for so many.  Even those who prefer the low-pressure game of mini golf will not be disappointed.

Adventure & Scenic Beauty.

For those who enjoy adventure and racing, there are several racetracks in the area and annual boat races that draw race teams from all over the nation including Lake Race in June and The Shootout in August. There are some go kart tracks that are awesome too if you want to do a little racing on a smaller scale.  The lake even sports helicopter tours to give you a special vantage of the lake and its beauty. For a different but also beautiful vantage point, check out the horseback riding options in the lake area.  In addition, the Ozarks terrain has numerous scenic hiking and mountain biking trails, and a huge system of state parks with diverse features and breathtaking views.  It is also no wonder that our winding highways are appreciated by motorcycle enthusiasts throughout the year.

Beat the Heat.

The Lake is famous for its outdoor activities, it’s true.  But there are lots of indoor options too.  We have several cool and comfortable caves in the area, each with their own unique features. We have arcades that are fun for kids and adults alike. Plus, you will find live music year-round as well as wineries, breweries and a distillery to enjoy.

With all of this to offer, there are good reasons why people want to live at the Lake of the Ozarks and why running or starting a business at the Lake of the Ozarks is a dream for so many.  If that is your dream too, Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development knows what a worthwhile and attainable dream that is, and we are here to be your resource and partner in the process.  Find out more on our website and make plans to attend our next meeting on July 15, 2021 at 1pm at the Lake West Chamber of Commerce, Sunrise Beach.
